When film is the right call
- You drive I-10 or I-12 daily. Highway miles mean gravel strikes on the bumper, hood edge and mirrors. Only film stops that.
- The car is new and you will keep it five years or more. Film on the front end pays back at resale on a car that would otherwise show a peppered hood.
- Dark paint on a daily driver. Chips show white on black; front-end film hides the problem before it exists.
When a coating is the right call
- The car lives outside. Sun, pollen, sap and bugs attack every panel, and film on the front does nothing for the roof, trunk and doors.
- You want easier washes. A coated car rinses clean; that is the benefit owners mention most.
- Budget is $750 to $1,500. That covers a full-car coating with paint correction, against a front-end film only.

Is ceramic coating better than PPF?

Can you put ceramic coating over paint protection film?
